Social media has come a long way in the past few years. In fact, we’ve gone from the days of Myspace to the rise of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. Let’s take a look at how this all happened. In 2004, Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook while still a student at Harvard University. He was inspired by a friend’s idea for a site where students could create profiles to connect with each other. At first, he had no intention of expanding beyond Harvard’s campus, but he changed his mind after realizing how many people wanted to use his website outside of Cambridge. In 2005, MySpace launched as an online platform for musicians and bands to connect with their fans through blogs and music videos. Initially created by Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe in Los Angeles, it quickly became one of the most popular websites on the internet until 2007 when it was overtaken by Facebook as the world’s largest social network site (SNS). That same year saw the birth of LinkedIn which was originally designed as an online resume database that allowed professionals to store resumes online for future reference. Shortly thereafter, Twitter was born in 2006 as a microblogging service that allowed users to post short messages called “tweets” that could be read by.
Social Media Networking
No one has a crystal ball into the future but social networking seems like a logical step for the metaverse. At the moment some might see it as a platform for games only but when you open up your mind and look at what the internet offers already you can see social networking as being a huge portion of the metaverse. Yes of course LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, as well as, Facebook has the majority of the market share but let’s not forget Myspace had market share first. So, if you’re ambitious enough we could start building social networking spaces in the metaverse for you. Like we have said, Mark Zuckerberg started with the idea of building a networking site for Harvard University, look where Facebook is now. There are no guarantees with any market but history suggests people’s behaviours tend to change when they are faced with new technology. Maybe starting small with a social networking club for the fans of your sports club (which might include a virtual sports stadium tour) could be what gets people from around the world more engaged with your club, keeping up with the latest news and buying your merchandise in your metaverse shop. The decline of high street shops has been a trend for a while now, but it’s only getting worse. There are many reasons for this decline: the rise of shopping online, Amazon, Google Shopping, and supermarket home delivery. While this is happening, people are spending more money on convenience than ever before. People are more likely to order something online when they’re not sure exactly what they want than if they were at a store where they could pick up an object and look at it before buying it. They also tend to buy more when they can’t try things on or feel them first and so do we all! Plus, with so many options available online, there’s less pressure to make a quick decision in person because you know you’ll still be able to find what you want later if it doesn’t work out at first glance.
It seems like a natural progression to go from selecting from an online list of products to putting on a headset and moving around a shop or shopping centre in the metaverse and get a better visual of a product. This is where we are probably heading, the ability to open up our virtual senses from a computer screen to a virtual headset for a fuller and more involved experience. There’s no market research into whether shopping with VR headset increases consumer spend yet, simply because no not many retailers have properly put both feet forward yet …but you can see where the technology might be heading! At iCreate we can help you get to where you want to be. We have a good-sized team with a vast number of skills for designing bespoke spaces in the metaverse. With our skills and your products, services and vision we can put your stamp in the metaverse. Don’t miss out on all the free marketing and advertising that goes with being one of the first companies to have a product launch in an online metaverse store. I’m sure a lot of media companies would love to write about your product launch in the metaverse, what great publicity for your business. Ask yourself this – could your company be the future of the metaverse?
The 1990s were a great time for game shows. Some of the most popular shows included gladiators, crystal maze, robot wars, and supermarket sweep. There were also some more eccentric shows, like blind date (looking back it’s not so eccentric now). In today’s world, we see the 90’s shows as a bit cheesy, but at the time they were incredibly popular. The main reason for this is that they had an incredible amount of heart. They showed that people could be super competitive and not be jerks about it. They also showed that teamwork could make all kinds of achievements possible. These days, we’ve lost sight of what makes these shows so special: the fact that they are completely unscripted and real. You can’t watch these shows now without feeling like you’re being manipulated by producers, that every moment is carefully planned out in advance by people who don’t really care about you as an individual viewer or person.
It would be great to think that we could re-create game shows like what we saw in the 90’s, but within the metaverse. In the same way an old pager was integrated into a mobile phone to produce a text message service, it would be great to put something old into something new. Of course, at iCreate we could help you put a metaverse spin on your ideas and if you don’t own the exclusive rights to a popular gameshow, you may need to use old game shows for inspirational purposes only! At iCreate, we have geared up our design business to make us a leader in Metaverse design for businesses across the world. With the ability to work remotely, it presents us with fabulous opportunities across the globe. If you have a budget and ideas for design work, please don’t hesitate to contact our team. Let’s see the future of the metaverse together.
